  1. After you've made that layer, immediately hide it by inverting the mask. Then add a Levels layer above that. Change the white slider from 255 to about 30:
  2. Anyway, we'll just have to do our best to fix it as is. Here's what you need to do: First, add a Solid Color layer. Enter 15 for the R, G and B values:
  3. ALWAYS save PSDs. Even if you keep absolutely no other files, always save PSDs. https://www.damiensymonds.net/2010/02/trash-those-jpegs.html
  4. That's excellent. May I see a screenshot, so I can see your layers panel?
  5. Yep, we can definitely fix this. Can you tell me if you edited this in Photoshop, or only Lightroom?
  6. Hi Adinah, do you mean it's uneven on your screen? Or in print? Or both?
  7. Gosh, that's not bad!
  8. Any luck?
  9. Bummer. That'll make this difficult. I don't know what to tell you, sorry. Until you can compare those prints with your screen, I don't see how you can get reprints at this stage.
  10. Yes. ROES is not colour-managed, so it never matches Photoshop. Have you seen the client's prints with your own eyes?
  11. VERY interesting. Are you able to re-create that to show me screenshots?
  12. That's fine. That is NAGP2, nothing has changed. Anyway, it was always very unlikely that those settings would have caused this problem. Have you checked that your files were sRGB? https://www.damiensymonds.net/art_tscs000.html
  13. https://www.damiensymonds.net/thread1.html
  14. Are you still on those Custom settings? Or have you changed back to NAGP2? If you're still on Custom, may I see a screenshot of them?
  15. No, you don't need new prints. The old prints are fine.
  16. Oh, interesting. Does your screen have another option? Eg HDMI?
  17. Does it give an error message when you try to rate? There are three methods for rating. Are none of them working?
  18. Are they on your internal hard drive as usual?
  19. Wait, what? How can you not be comparing to prints? You can't calibrate without print comparison.
  20. Whoa, that sure is weird. How many photos are you comparing? How old are the prints?
  21. This is a tough one all right! Thankfully he's looking pretty much directly at the camera, so it might be possible to fix one side, then copy it and use it for the other. To that end, try these three layers: Download PSD Then use the Handyman method to fix it further, to make it as perfect as possible in the circumstances. Then Stamp Visible and use for the other side. You'll need to flip it, but of course keep a copy of the iris not flipped, otherwise the catchlights will be mirrored.
  22. Are you sure it's only skin tones? What about other colours in the red, orange and yellow part of the spectrum?
  23. Simplify it for me. Are you saying your screen doesn't match your pro lab prints?
  24. Then it really sounds like a weird graphics card glitch, I reckon. However, if that's the case, it's out of my league. I'm going to move this post into Brian's area. @Brian, does it sound like graphics card misbehaviour to you?
