Yvonn.ie Posted September 7, 2021 Posted September 7, 2021 Hi Damien recalibrating my screen and following your instructions to ensure I'm defo doing it right. I had it set to wide LED, based on checking before - but I am not knowledgeable enough not to be wrong! Here is the spec as sent from where I bought the laptop, does WLED mean Wide LED? Google suggests maybe not! further spec info here: https://www.panelook.com/LP156WFG-SPB2_LG Display_15.6_LCM_parameter_38454.html thanks!
Damien Symonds Posted September 7, 2021 Author Posted September 7, 2021 No, that looks like standard LED to me. 1
Damien Symonds Posted January 6, 2022 Author Posted January 6, 2022 @JanessaTaber what setting did you choose here?
Chelsea Lake Posted February 23, 2022 Posted February 23, 2022 I have an ASUS ROG Zephyrus M15. Would that be standard led or wide led?

Chelsea Lake Posted February 23, 2022 Posted February 23, 2022 It is the last one, ROG Zephyrus M15 GU502LU-HN080T
Damien Symonds Posted February 23, 2022 Author Posted February 23, 2022 Then it's definitely Standard LED.

Damien Symonds Posted March 6, 2022 Author Posted March 6, 2022 Looks like Wide LED to me. Try that first.
kaitlyn brodell Posted April 6, 2022 Posted April 6, 2022 I have a MacBook Pro and mistakenly chose wide but standard is likely what's correct?

kaitlyn brodell Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 I've tried it both ways. The graph I sent you was for Wide which is what Datacolor recommended in their support solution. I'll try it again in Standard and send you a screenshot of that graph.
kaitlyn brodell Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 Now my screen is so dark that the Spyder won't even calibrate at all because I keep getting an error that the lens cap must not be off. It is, it's just so dark that it won't register. Aagh!
Damien Symonds Posted April 13, 2022 Author Posted April 13, 2022 Then you'll need to go to the Displays page and switch to a different monitor profile, I guess.
kaitlyn brodell Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 Could you be more specific? Right now I have Apple XDR Display selected under presets and that seems to be the brightest option. Unless you're talking about something else.
Damien Symonds Posted April 13, 2022 Author Posted April 13, 2022 Yes, that one will be fine. It doesn't really matter. You just need to choose it long enough for the calibrator to work again.
