Display Technology

This step is really important, so read the info and make your decision wisely.  I would say that the majority of screens out there in the world are “Standard LED”, but yours might be different.

Is there a label on the underside with more information?  A model number?

Hi Damien

recalibrating my screen and following your instructions to ensure I'm defo doing it right. I had it set to wide LED, based on checking before - but I am not knowledgeable enough not to be wrong! Here is the spec as sent from where I bought the laptop, does WLED mean Wide LED? Google suggests maybe not!

further spec info here:

I have a MacBook Pro and mistakenly chose wide but standard is likely what's correct?

If Standard has given you such awful colours, maybe it should be Wide after all.

I've tried it both ways. The graph I sent you was for Wide which is what Datacolor recommended in their support solution. I'll try it again in Standard and send you a screenshot of that graph.

Now my screen is so dark that the Spyder won't even calibrate at all because I keep getting an error that the lens cap must not be off. It is, it's just so dark that it won't register. Aagh!

Could you be more specific? Right now I have Apple XDR Display selected under presets and that seems to be the brightest option. Unless you're talking about something else.
