  1. It sounds like your adjustments are being saved, but the new previews aren't being generated. Can you fill this out real quick please? http://www.damiensymonds.net/thread1.html
  2. Guess the room at your home is definitely a problem then.
  3. Something isn't right here. I'm not sure if it's the light in your room + the wall color or something went wrong when you ordered the print...but that file you posted looks lovely and warm on my computer, not grey and lifeless.
  4. Hmm, can you post the jpeg here? (the same one you sent to the lab) I'm curious to see how it looks on my monitor.
  5. I'm not sure I'd call those prints warmer, they look green. Are the walls in your room green too? It might even be in the wrong color space. Can you check this please? http://www.damiensymonds.com.au/art_tscs000.html
  6. The Iron Man coffin actually sounds awesome to me!
  7. Here is a good alternative: https://creativemarket.com/karolisdigital?page=2 Some more from shutterstock; http://www.shutterstock.com/s/superhero/search.html And from iStock: http://www.istockphoto.com/illustrations/superhero?facets=%7B%22text%22:%5B%22superhero%22%5D,%22pageNumber%22:1,%22perPage%22:100,%22abstractType%22:%5B%22illustrations%22%5D,%22order%22:%22bestMatch%22,%22f%22:true%7D
  8. Cut them out and put them where though? Some of them are small so they might not print well larger. Plus there is the whole copyright/trademark issue. I'll see if I can find some licensed clipart you can buy.
  9. I just moved your post to the "questions about tutorials and articles" section since you're asking about a specific method of Damien's.
  10. Where are the images you need help editing? I'm not quite sure I understand what you intend to do here.
  11. I'll get the "what to buy" link in a few. But you can search for it at damiensymonds.net if you don't want to wait. Yes, please follow Damien's instructions. The manufacturers instructions are virtually useless. Not all prolabs require you to be a business owner. WHCC is the first one that comes to mind that also serves the public, but there are others. I'd definitely recommend a pro lab over your local drugstore for calibration just so our have your best chance at consistency.
  12. Unfortunately the Spyder4Pro does not play nice when you attempt to manually adjust your monitor (ask me how i know lol). Where are you noticing the problem with the reds and pinks? Is it only certain shades? Can you post an example of an image that has printed incorrectly?
  13. Can you check to make sure when you calibrated that it's set to version 2 and not version 4? http://www.damiensymonds.net/cal_CMD_mac.html
  14. Which program on your computer though? If you're viewing them outside of PS then it's irrelevant. But you can check this to be safe: http://www.damiensymonds.net/art_tscs000.html
  15. Where are you seeing the 189 number? The snapshots you took of your screen say 100.
  16. What program are you viewing the images in when you notice the colors are changing?
  17. Are you calibrated so that your monitor matches your prints? I'm unsure of how much help Damien will be able to give you here since you have to be in the Deluxe class to receive feedback on your raw editing. He should be on soon though.
  18. I think you uploaded the same photo twice? Can you post the SOOR of both the photo of the little girl, and the group shot you will be adding her to?
  19. It should be under Edit > Preferences > Interface or something similar
  20. Please don't compare your monitor to any other devices, especially if they aren't calibrated. The screen is lying to you. Just because it looks good one the screen doesn't matter - the proof is in the prints. How does your monitor differ currently from your prints? 70 is a perfectly ok number for your brightness if your light is good and that's what you need to make it match. Don't arbitrarily raise the brightness - only adjust it in order to make your monitor match your prints. Can you please describe how your monitor currently differs from your prints in terms of brightness? How are the new prints different from the prints you used during your initial calibration? (when compared to your monitor) Can you post one of the images here as an example?
  21. Have you seen this article yet? http://www.damiensymonds.net/preventing-banding-in-backdrops/ The key to working with these backdrops is to do little to no editing on them in PS.
  22. Ha I didn't even notice that. I am still able to mess with the masks though. Just make sure you don't have the "content aware fill" option turned on when you are using the photomerge tool.
  23. How does this look? I used the photomerge feature on "auto". First I opened Bridge, selected all the files, then did Tools > Photoshop > Photomerge and Selected "Auto" on the top left.
  24. Wow! I didn't even know you could control the age of your viewers. lol! Glad ya'll figured it out!
