  1. That's right! First, I duplicated the Background layer and ran Dust & Scratches filter at 3/10 (adjust that to your taste). Then masked it to the problem areas only. Then Handyman, exactly as you said.
  2. This is the best I can manage. I realise it's not perfect, but would it pass?
  3. That there is a PSD in this thread.
  4. May I see it close up?
  5. I think you are wrong, yes. In the manual, about 6 or so pages in, it talks about it. https://www.download.p4c.philips.com/files/b/bdm3201fd_75/bdm3201fd_75_dfu_eng.pdf
  6. That can't be right. Did you find the little button on the back that I circled in red?
  7. This is a review on that page: It must be this thing: Is that what yours has? It sure does look annoying.
  8. Is it this one? https://www.philips.com.au/c-p/BDM3201FD_75/signage-solutions-led-backlit-lcd-display
  9. May I have a link to information about your screen? Maybe on the Philips website?
  10. Not quite perfect, but pretty close. Easily passable.
  11. The Philips monitor will have a manual brightness control. Have you found its buttons? They'll (usually) be at the bottom or the right-hand side of the screen, sometimes hidden around the back.
  12. https://www.damiensymonds.net/2015/04/the-handyman-method.html But I hasten to add that I don't think there's a problem. I genuinely can't see what shadow you're talking about? You can't, sorry. You'd need to try to clone the blanket afterwards.
  13. That's great news, @RachFarber. Find instructions for its use here: https://www.damiensymonds.net/calibration.html
  14. Well duh. A typical Lightroom problem. Remind me which version of Photoshop you have at the moment?
  15. Yes. https://www.damiensymonds.net/act_ip.html
  16. Have you set up your watermark action? https://www.damiensymonds.net/act_web.html
  17. Don't worry, all the modern calibrators will handle the high resolution of 4K just fine.
  18. No, don't worry. The worst that can happen is that it just won't run
  19. PLEASE post it in class, I beg you.
  20. May I have a link to your new computer's specs?
  21. Hi @RachFarber, it's likely that you're right - your old Spyder3 won't work on the new system. But have you tried it anyway?
  22. It's definitely not, sorry.
  23. PLEASE stop trying to edit without help. There's nothing heroic about it. There's certainly nothing time-saving about it.
