  1. Do you have any in frames around your house?
  2. Hey Carol, you know I'm a very skilled old photo restorer too, right? There is ABSOLUTELY no reason to post your moldy photo anywhere but here.
  3. Bummer, are you SURE? Can you check again?
  4. What? No, you don't need new prints!!!! Any previous prints will do. Do you have any lying around?
  5. You said this is a new iMac and a new calibrator. Have you compared the old lab's prints to the new screen?
  6. How many print labs have you tried?
  7. Exactly. Are you saying that Native gave you a warmer result than 6500K? No, that's irrelevant.
  8. Yes, always Photoshop. Or Bridge. No, what you "think" is completely irrelevant. The screen should match the prints in your hand, period. Even if the prints are terrible, the screen should be exactly the same shade of terrible.
  9. You have an iMac, is that right? What calibrator do you have? Could you post the three photos here for me?
  10. Great. So choose the Crop Tool, and in the Options Bar, make sure it's set to "WxHxResolution" (I think that's what the setting is called. Then enter "960px" in the Width field (make sure you include the "px" or you'll crop it to 960 inches or something!). Leave the Height and Resolution fields blank. Then crop.
  11. Oh gee, no, never use the marquee tool for cropping. Which version of PS do you have?
  12. Well, when comparing prints, I'd probably turn off that overhead light, and rely on the window light.
  13. Are you saying you can't get a print match?
  14. Yep, focus is excellent. Can we talk about this one in the Raw Class please?
  15. Wow, great work.
  16. You're welcome. Feel free to post any time you have troubles.
  17. That method works for mild colour moire. But not for stronger moire.
  18. I already told you - that's only for colour moire. Does the new photo have colour moire?
  19. I think it's perfect. Well done. You should be very proud of this. PLEASE don't wait any longer to join the Levels and Skin Classes. They'll blow your mind.
  20. Yes, I fear that will be a difficult decision to make. Yes, it will look flat, so stop before that. I think you'll need to be careful on the toes, and the part of the foot closer to the toes - that will start to look flat first. On the heel, you should be able to go more aggressively. Well, it was guesswork, but yes, with experience mixed in. Because Levels are always better than Curves. It might also be possible to do it with the Handyman Method, but more time-consuming I expect.
  21. Just normal mode, yes. It's looking good.
  22. Well, I figure a Levels layer, and move the middle sliders thusly: RGB channel: 2.50 Red channel: 1.80 Green channel: 1.10 The masking will need to be very patient. Don't rush it.
  23. You might find that 11/6 does a fair job to begin, but some manual cloning will still be required after that.
