  1. Are you still around, @Bridget?
  2. Hi Bridget, could you show me a screenshot of Bridge?
  3. I promise, it isn't there. On either photo you sent me. They're both *chef's kiss* perfect files.
  4. Your A4 file is PERFECT. It's exactly the right size, exactly the right amount of noise, and absolutely no banding. That fact that you can see any banding at all in the file means there's a problem with your screen, or your eyes. What screen are you viewing on, and how is it calibrated? Then you need a new lab.
  5. I don't think you actually realise how silly it sounds. Of COURSE you didn't need to convert to MM. You were supposed to enter "9in" and "6in" in the crop settings.
  6. I don't understand. Why was that necessary? You don't need to convert anything.
  7. You still didn't get the size right It's close to 9x6, but not exactly.
  8. Well yes, 28 is much too low.
  9. Can you send me the 9x6 file that you sent to the lab? https://spaces.hightail.com/uplink/BellePhotography
  10. A new lab. You've done everything perfectly.
  11. Wow, I haven't heard of this one before. Have you tried going to Tools > Cache > Purge cache for folder ?
  12. No, use the layer. https://damiensymonds.net/tut_noise.html
  13. Apply it across the whole photo.
  14. About half the amount you used before, I reckon.
  15. Standard, yes. Quality 9 is ample for print.
  16. Make sure you turn off the noise layer. Then flatten the file. Then crop. And yes, save it as a new file. https://damiensymonds.net/2010/02/trash-those-jpegs.html THEN add your noise.
  17. Just choose your crop tool and enter the size and resolution. (Check with your lab to see what resolution they require. Most say 300ppi, but some differ.)
  18. Have you shot against this backdrop before? And printed successfully?
  19. Just crop to the exact size and resolution.
  20. You don't need a class to tell you how to resize a file, surely?
  21. There are two things wrong with the file (I only opened the first one of the batch you sent me). You've added way too much noise to the background. You didn't resize and sharpen accurately for print.
  22. Well shit, no wonder it didn't print right. PLEASE don't wait any longer to learn how to print. https://www.damiensymonds.net/trainingsharp.html
  23. Okay, can you send me the exact A4 file you sent to the lab? https://spaces.hightail.com/uplink/BellePhotography
