  1. Right. And you haven't got to the bonus module of the class yet.
  2. No, sorry, you haven't learned how to sharpen digital files yet.
  3. Then you'll just send a jpeg file as usual, to the magazine. And yes, make sure it's 300ppi as they asked. For web, maybe you just need to do what they say. Don't resize them at all, just crop two versions for them.
  4. You're not, right? You're just sending photos?
  5. NO! The resolution is completely irrelevant. You need the dimensions in pixels.
  6. She's got no freakin' idea what she's talking about.
  7. Yes, but PDF files are for whole ads. You're not designing a whole ad, are you?
  8. You'll have to ask them. Every website is different. They'll need to tell you exactly what pixel dimensions their website requires. Resolution is completely irrelevant for web images. It can be 300, or 72, or 3000000000, or 7. Only the pixel dimensions matter. https://www.damiensymonds.net/2010/10/how-ive-been-sharpening-for-web-lately.html PDF? Are you sure? Can you show me exactly what their requirements say?
  9. May I see one?
  10. No. Yes, please do! I'm so curious.
  11. Your proof setup isn't turned on, so that can't be it.
  12. Yes, you gave me exactly the right screenshot. Also, your Clone Tool is set to "Current Layer" in the Options Bar. That's bad. It must always be set to "Current & Below".
  13. I have absolutely no idea. I've never seen that before.
  14. You're ON the smart object layer! I can see that you've made a blank layer for cloning, but you're not on it!
  15. Do.not.rasterize.the.layer. May I see a screenshot?
  16. Yes. For ultimate workflow safety, yes.
  17. Don't forget that straightening (if required) should be the very first step in Photoshop. https://www.damiensymonds.net/2010/01/straightening-horizons.html
  18. I have no idea, sorry. But I'm so excited for you. I'm so excited to see your photos with better focus. Your magnificent photography has been let down for the longest time by poor performance at high ISO.
  19. In the bottom left corner there's a "Shortcuts" dropdown menu. That will be the way.
  20. I'm SO sorry ... I know the answer to that on a PC, but I'm not sure about Mac.
  21. I assure you, a home printer has no such cleverness. It prints a rough approximation of the file you send it, within its limitations.
  22. You do need to calibrate again now that you've changed the brightness, yes.
  23. Hi @Miksang Images, I have instructions for the SpyderX Elite. You'll find them here: https://www.damiensymonds.net/calibration.html
  24. Sorry, I wasn't clear. I was more interested in this section. I don't see how you correlate that to a home printer.
