  1. Well ... how important is it? I reckon you could find any old indoor photo, darken it a lot, and mask it in there.
  2. Not perfect, of course, but passable.
  3. Big improvement, though. Well done.
  4. If it resizes to 700, that's because you made it 700 when you set it up. You'll need to re-do the process from the beginning if you want a new size.
  5. Looks excellent from here. Well done.
  6. I hope you won't wait too much longer to join the Channel Mixer Class. It's SO useful.
  7. Ok, great. Here's the PSD The order of doing things will need some explanation ... Do the Channel Mixer layer, but leave its mask entirely white (so it affects the whole photo). Add the Dodge & Burn layer and clip it to the CM layer, but don't actually do anything on it yet. Add the Hue/Sat layer and clip it as well. At this stage, the whole photo will be pink. Return to the D&B layer to do that work. Use a very low opacity brush and work gently and patiently, until it's all as smooth as you can make it. Finally, return to the CM layer and invert the mask to black, then paint on the mask just on the area where needed. Make sure it's a biggish soft brush that blends out nicely.
  8. This is the best I can manage. The problem is still there, but much reduced I think. Is it good enough?
  9. Ok, may I see a closer crop of the area?
  10. Hi @newby, I urge you to abandon this idea. Printing your own photos is a really bad idea. It's expensive - not only to buy the printer and the materials, but also the VERY expensive calibrator you need to make your screen and prints match. Not to mention all the wasted money in all the mistakes you'll make while setting up. It's damn frustrating (because of the mistakes I just mentioned). Just do what all sensible photographers do. Find yourself a good lab. That way, you'll only need to buy a calibrator that does screens. The screen-only ones are MUCH cheaper than the screen-and-printer ones. https://www.damiensymonds.net/what2buy_cal.html http://www.damiensymonds.net/lab-reviews
  11. Just to confirm we're on the same page, you're talking about this bit here?
  12. Anyway, I urge you not to correct perspective this way. It's too destructive, and limiting. I beg you to do it properly. https://www.damiensymonds.net/2014/03/distortion-or-perspective-correction.html
  13. Never say never. It might come up at some stage. And if it does, make sure you consult me about the CMYK workflow. I don't know, sorry.
  14. Yes, because you've got it set to "8px x 11px" in the Options bar, of course Presumably you mean that to be 8x11 inches?
  15. Yep, that'll do. The CMYK Working Space is different, but it's immaterial anyway, since you'll always use a custom profile if you ever have need to output something in CMYK mode. I don't think my NAGP2 file from CS5 would work in your version.
  16. Holy mackerel! Something went badly wrong with your install. This issue alone isn't enough to warrant a complete reinstall, but you should certainly keep an eye out for other missing features. Let's fix this manually. Under "Color Management Policies", all three should be set to "Preserve Embedded Profiles", and all the checkboxes should be turned off. All the other stuff will be ok.
  17. Absolutely not. NEVER change those settings from "North America General Purpose 2".
  18. Hi Josie, I've moved this post into Ask Damien since it's not a class question per se. I hope you might be able to get away with Liquify to stretch those corners out, so you can avoid "mindless cloning". And for the divot, definitely Liquify, then some dodge-and-burn to balance the light and shadow a bit.
  19. Ok. PLEASE start posting photos in class again.
  20. Did you get a resolution on this, @Tarria?
