  1. I've merged the two threads, because I can't help thinking they're related.
  2. I just read it, thanks. What kind of cable connects the laptop to the screen?
  3. Just to check - this was a typo, right? You mean "between Photoshop and printed images".
  4. I definitely encourage you to run Glary Utilities. It's very thorough and very reliable. Is it just the laptop screen you're using? Or do you have a desktop screen plugged into it?
  5. For a change to stick, two things must happen: You must have only ONE file open at the time of the change; You must open the raw file into Photoshop afterwards. I'd say you didn't fulfill one or both of those.
  6. Your ACR settings are perfect. So are your Photoshop settings. If you edit a photo in ACR then press "Open Image" to take it directly into PS, you definitely shouldn't be getting this message. Can you show me a screenshot of the photo in ACR?
  7. I wonder if this is related, somehow, to the random blurriness of Bridge that you mentioned in the other thread? It all seems like screen weirdness, you know? So, can you tell me the details of your screen?
  8. I have heard of this, but I haven't heard of it being random. To start, can you do this for me? https://www.damiensymonds.net/thread1.html
  9. I would like to echo this. Speaking as somebody who DID get locked into a system a few years ago, then left high and dry when the software upgrades dried up.
  10. You only ever need one monitor for editing. The second monitor can be a pile of crap, it's only for emails and stuff. The Dell Ultrasharps have a great reputation. What makes you concerned about their uniformity?
  11. It's very very important. Which monitors are you referring to?
  12. Stephanie, for the love of God, POST YOUR PHOTOS IN CLASS BEFORE PRINTING THEM!!! These are completely awful. However, that's beside the point. Your prints and screen should match each other, period. Both the good ones and the awful ones - ALL of them should match. When you say "test prints" - were they your own photos? Or were they literally test prints that the lab provided?
  13. Are you nuts? NO! Put the damn beer money towards taking the damn Raw Class again, and actually USE the damn thing this time. Presets! Of all the stupid shit ...
  14. I dunno, that looks more like sharpness, or simple jpeg degradation, to me. I'm not concerned about it, I don't think it's relevant.
  15. No they're bloody not. They print way too warm, I NEVER recommend anybody use them. The exact jpeg files you sent to the lab.
  16. Those stripes are fairly broad. You'll be ok while the subjects more or less fill the frame, I figure. But if you take shots of them further away, it'll likely be a problem. And if there is a problem, it'll be a devil to fix. Yeah, maybe ask her to choose another.
  17. Are you saying that when you click on the image, the marching ants box doesn't appear?
  18. When you say it's "not letting you" ... what's it doing, exactly?
  19. And you're SURE there's nothing different about those photos? The way you took them, the way you edited them?
