  1. 8GB of RAM is the bare minimum that Adobe recommend for running Photoshop. So be careful not to have too many other programs open at the same time, while you have PS open. Please run Glary as soon as you can. Your free space is good. Now, is this a problem which has only begun today? Was Photoshop acting perfectly normally yesterday?
  2. This is perfectly normal. Not all programs are colour-managed. On your computer, you must only ever use Bridge to browse your photos. And on the internet, only ever use Firefox.
  3. Hi Sandy, to begin, do you mind doing this for me? https://www.damiensymonds.net/thread1.html
  4. Gosh, how annoying! Do the cursor keys still work in Essentials mode?
  5. I'm so sorry Pat, I don't know. I'm not familiar with your calibrator
  6. Can we talk about this in class briefly?
  7. Gosh, darkness AND glare! Tough combo. Yes, I'll be able to help to a degree, at least. But of course we must never do any Photoshop work until the raw processing is done, so go ahead and do that now, then post again.
  8. Of course. Bridge. It's the only one to use, ever. Which version of Photoshop do you have?
  9. No tutorial, no. Just post your photo and I'll help.
  10. This is the latest news I've seen: https://www.diyphotography.net/dxo-acquires-nik-collection-google-plans-develop/ But for now, you're probably in limbo. If Google have stopped updating it, but DxO haven't yet begun to do so ...
  11. Hi Edita, please post your raw-related questions in the Raw Class Posting Area, thank you. Make sure you read the "Posting Guidelines" post first.
  12. So ... are you thinking that you might need to choose a target of 140, or something like that?
  13. This makes sense, doesn't it? Didn't you say that your calibration had been lower and lower lately?
  14. Easy enough to add some "rays". Add a white Solid Color layer above the gradient layer, and clip it thereto. Then invert the mask. Then with a very low opacity white brush, paint some strokes outwards from the middle of the "sun".
  15. If the sun was that low for real, the haze would be affecting the people at least to a degree. I think you should let some of it spill onto them.
  16. Well, have you opened it to examine it? It's a radial gradient, and you should be able to see the various colour and opacity stops I used.
  17. Download PSD I had to experiment with all the blend modes, and I encourage you to do the same. Some give a stronger result.
  18. Phew. It's not quite as effective because your trees aren't so dark, but how is this?
