  1. That's correct. I have the very ASUS laptop that Brian recommends (well, a slightly older version) and the screen is very good, for a laptop. However, if you want the very best in screen options, don't go for a laptop or a Mac. Desktop screens are the way to go (you can plug one into a laptop, of course).
  2. I think you'll see it if you go back to the Devices tab.
  3. Yes, if they say so, definitely do it. Go to your Control Panel, and change "View by" from "Category" to "Small Icons". Then you'll see Color Management in the list.
  4. Oh! Ok, well, definitely use the RGB one. Can you post it, and a 100% crop from it?
  5. Well, no, it's just not ideal to be working with a grayscale file. Better to have an RGB file if possible. But it's not the end of the world. Is that one also grayscale mode?
  6. Did you scan the photo yourself, or were you sent the digital file?
  7. Well, I'll need to see one of the photos
  8. Well, you click in the little histogram icon just below your Character panel name.
  9. I'm sorry if my Spyder instructions gave you the impression that you should only try numbered presets. I definitely think you should try all the presets.
  10. Somewhere in this long thread we discussed multi-page PDFs, I think.
  11. You'll need to speak to the printer about that. There's a "Smallest File Size" setting, which should be a good starting point.
  12. Printing refers to the actual printing industry, as far as I'm aware. Graphic designers et al. It definitely should be magically accurate.
  13. Yes, you should definitely try those presets. But I still want to hear about calibrating another screen.
  14. What was your intention here? How did you think you were going to hide the parts? You haven't positioned fabric or anything. I'm confused.
  15. Ok, I think this is just ok to show, if you're sure you have nothing better. It's not perfect, by any means, but would sharpen up ok.
  16. Thanks. Are there any other parts of the photo that are more in focus? The socks, or the teddy bear, or anything like that?
  17. Hi Vivm, this link is provided in the "Read This First & FAQs" post. Did you happen to see it?
  18. Oh gee, the fabric is going to make this hard. May I see a closer crop of her tummy area?
  19. May I see the boy's eyes also, just to be safe?
  20. Hint: Look at the profile details in the sidebar Have you had canvases printed by this lab before?
  21. I'm so sorry, this is outside my experience. I'm going to move this to the GenDisc area, in the hope that somebody else will have some wisdom.
