  1. Correct. When you crop to 11:15, make sure that no resolution is being imposed. When you crop, the image shouldn't change size on screen (apart from the removal of the cropped parts, of course).
  2. Not necessarily a blackboard. Any black surface would do. As long as it was quite flat and evenly lit, and nice and dark. A wrinkled black blanket would be a bad idea, if you know what I mean. The way I see it, there are two options: Start with the photo of the baby on a black background, and Place the picture of the drawing, and set it to "Screen" blend mode to merge it. This way should be the easiest, if we can pull it off. Start with the photo of the drawing, and Place the baby onto it, and mask it. Either method should give great results. I can't wait to work with you on this project!
  3. Well yes, but nothing beats actually drawing it for real, with chalk on a blackboard, then photographing that and merging the two.
  4. Oh, no, this just gets worse Fix the noise thusly.
  5. To be honest, your first one was better. We could see their legs in that one.
  6. This is not a coincidence:
  7. Please PLEASE tell me you're on the list?
  8. I'm so sorry Cath, I don't know of a way to truly get rid of it. All I can suggest is duplicating the Background layer and running a Surface Blur filter to blur it out, then reduce the opacity of that layer to find a balance that's plausible. Reduction, not removal.
  9. No, this can't be right, surely? Everyone is so blue and dark.
  10. This is not your biggest problem here. Fix.
  11. Looks great.
  12. Great! And since you have InDesign, may I assume you also own the full version of Acrobat?
  13. No , a fade would look implausible.
  14. Ok, there are a few aspects to this. Can you tell me a bit more about the job? Is it a brochure? Advertisement? Flyer? Poster? What are the photos of? Scenery? People? Products?
  15. Never mind, let's make do. This is with the last photo Placed a couple of times, and masked on: Here's a screenshot:
  16. This is a very good question. No, definitely not TIFF. That is a very old-fashioned notion, which I sort of addressed here. Jpeg is fine. Level 10 quality is ample. Are you doing the InDesign work, or are you providing the photos to somebody else to do the ID work?
  17. Is it too late? I mean, do you still have the rug?
  18. Well, you'll need another photo (or preferably several other photos) of the rug to borrow from. Do you have any?
  19. Isn't that bizarre? It should be right there, between "Add to favorites" and "Label".
  20. Rename doesn't work in Filmstrip mode either? May I see a screenshot of the menu you see when you right-click?
  21. I guess you're aware that 4GB is very low. Still, it shouldn't be causing this. The weird thing is that there shouldn't be only one folder showing in the Content panel. There should be a whole lot of them, the same as there are in Filmstrip mode. Have you since switched back to Essentials to see if it's still like that?
  22. Yes, I have no quick tricks for that, sorry. Just plenty of time and patience.
  23. I don't understand what the problem is? Can you still open the folders to access the files inside them? This looks normal to me.
