  1. Remember, the assessment of colours must only be done in a colour-managed program. So if you don't have Photoshop on the laptop, you'll need to install Bridge.
  2. It's ok, that will work. Plug your desktop screen into the laptop computer and calibrate it there. See if the same magenta problem exists. I should have asked this sooner - what kind of cable is connecting your screen to your computer?
  3. Ok, it's time to do some tests. Do you have another screen you can plug in to the computer and calibrate? If that was high in magenta too, it would point to a graphics card issue.
  4. Ok, this scares me: You have to find that setting in the screen's menu and make sure it is turned off.
  5. Remind me what screen you have again? Is the brightness a match now?
  6. Yep, White LED should be correct. How's the colour of the dog's fur in this print?
  7. I find that very hard to believe. It's not THAT old. Are you sure you've got all the settings correct on this screen? https://www.damiensymonds.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/cm02-1.gif
  8. Hmmm ... then the problem must be the new graphics card in the new computer, I guess.
  9. Ok, thanks. Yeah, that's what I found when I tried proofing your photo with my lab's profile as well. Ok, so that means that there IS a problem with your calibration. Is anything new in your equation? I mean, how long have you had the calibrator, and how long have you had your computer, and how long have you been calibrating the latter with the former?
  10. Yep, those settings are perfect. So you're toggling Ctrl Y to turn the profile off and on, and you don't see any change?
  11. No no no, never worry about the gamut warning. Use the profile properly.
  12. Ok, it sounds like there are two separate issues here, and the fact that they both involve magenta is a simple but unfortunate coincidence. The first thing you must do is obtain a soft-proofing profile from your lab and try it.
  13. I can see magenta (pink) areas in the 2nd and 3rd photos, but what are the problem areas in the 1st and 4th?
  14. Oh darn Ok, well your next step is to clone out that vertical crease down the photo, yeah?
  15. Oh, hooray!!!! https://www.damiensymonds.net/scanning-guidelines-for-old-photo-restoration.html
