  1. No, it's to dangerous to put it on Duplicate, sorry. Leave it on Extend, and try making it the main display as I suggesed. Sure, maybe that would help! Don't worry about this. As I said, the computer will know.
  2. Perhaps not quite as good as the others, but still easily a pass.
  3. Gosh, that's weird. Maybe you need to set the other screen as the main display? Then will it stay?
  4. Yes, we can change that if necessary. As long as it's not too different. Like, different race different.
  5. The absolute best way to "fix" this is to borrow a belly button from another baby. Can you find one?
  6. Do you mind taking the 100% crop again? Something seems to have gone awry. https://www.damiensymonds.net/2013/09/grabbing-700x700px-100-crop.html
  7. Yes. Yes please. Until I say stop. I need to see that you can consistently get their white balance right, first time every time.
  8. Sorry, I've tried all the file formats I can think of. Nothing is working. Brian might have some wiser ideas, but honestly, with the file sizes so small, I fear these files are unusable.
  9. Those files are much too small to be real raw files, aren't they? They're only around 7MB.
  10. Ah. Brian will have wiser advice, but in my experience you can have success (sometimes) by changing the filename. Try ".tif" and ".jpg" and even ".psd" to see what happens. Also, do you mind sending me one or two of the troublesome files? https://spaces.hightail.com/uplink/BellePhotography
  11. Of course don't do ANY Photoshop work until the raw editing is done properly. PLEASE keep posting photos in the class. You should have been well and truly finished it by now.
  12. Ok. Then yes, your best immediate solution is to buy a better screen.
  13. Yeah, you can't safely edit them out. You'll need to replace the background. https://www.damiensymonds.net/preventing-banding-in-backdrops/
  14. Then in what way was the calibration inaccurate? Did you follow the troubleshooting part of my directions to their exhaustion?
  15. Don't worry, your computer knows We humans don't need to understand it, because it happens automatically. It's wonderful! However, if you like to be extra geeky you can control your profiles using the little app I discuss in this article. Again, don't worry. The computer knows. All you need to do is launch the calibration software then drag the window to the screen you wish to calibrate. It will understand your desires
  16. If you were following those instructions, and you're still not happy with the screen, have you considered just buying a new screen? It would be the MUCH cheaper option. You could get a very good screen for a fraction of the price of a new computer. https://www.damiensymonds.net/art_monitor.html
  17. Thanks. Outlook is what I was looking at, actually. I'll explore it some more.
