You have done a STAGGERINGLY good job, well done.
If you could just fine a suitably-angled ear to borrow from another photo, this would be perfectly fine (for what it is).
There's really not much needed to make your photo into the other photo. Just some more saturation for the background, and less for the foreground.

Of course it's more effective on Natalie's photo, because she has some other colours (such as the blue fence) to work with. So please feel free to post some more photos of your own, with perhaps a bit more detail.
Whoa. Danger! Danger!
We'll get to the editing, I promise. But first we have to fix a CATASTROPHIC problem with your file.
Please follow this troubleshooter all the way to its conclusion, then post your photo again.
Yep, I think we should be able to manage this easily enough.
Of course we would never do Photoshop work before the raw processing is done, so go ahead and do your raw editing, then post the photo again.
Please stop trying to upload through Bridge. Just put the card in your computer, open the folder (go to "My computer" if the folder doesn't open automatically) then copy the files safely to the correct folder on your hard drive. Don't overcomplicate life.
Hi Stacey, may I see a screenshot showing the whole screen? Well, at least the layers panel.
Oh, also, make sure you zoom in to 100% to see if the line is really there. Sometimes this occurs as a trick of zoom.
The nature of your question indicates that you didn't use the Shape Tool to make vector clipping masks the way you should have?

If you had done so, you'd simply Ctrl T the shape layer and change its size/shape to your heart's content.
