Yes, I know. Earlier in the thread you said that they don't require you to convert your files - you can send them in sRGB as normal. Is that still the case? -
Right. Remind me why they've sent you this file? Just for soft-proofing, not conversion?

I don't think there's any question that the photo looks better without that dark patch. That masking, tho ....

You're welcome to leave that layer off, if you are patient enough to do the really careful masking needed.

Oh, sorry, no, I literally just meant the masking. Blend it more gradually downwards.

Yep! It'll still need some gentle masking around the tree, but much less arduous now.

Sometimes I find I have to take the scale down really small - like 20% or something - so I can get the gradient centred exactly where I want it. Then take the scale back up again.

That might be as close as you'll get, eh? Looks like the centre of it needs to be moved down a bit.

The background behind the lower left part of the tree is still darker than the gradient, isn't it?

Gradient 3 must need to be darker. And have you moved it across so it's centred on that shadow area on the left?

Not SOOC, no. I said in the article: So go ahead and do your raw processing, then post a 100% crop from the SOOR.

Yeah, that's nowhere near enough. Ten times that would barely be enough, in fact. You have to get some files off there onto your backup drives. -
Might be time to start masking now, and see how it comes up?
