  1. Ok, can you do me a favour? When you select a raw file in Bridge, there are two ways to open it into ACR - one is Ctrl O (for "Open") and the other is Ctrl R (for "Raw"). Could you try both ways, and see if the problem exists both ways?
  2. Hi Karen, is it only ACR where you're seeing weirdness? When you open the photos into Photoshop, is everything ok?
  3. This is the best I can offer. I realise it's not very good.
  4. Have they seen any of your images? I mean, do they know they have pure white backgrounds already?
  5. This is not going to be easy, I'm afraid. Can you tell me the exact file requirements the printers have given you?
  6. I'm so sorry, I can't discuss this here. Point #5 in the posting guidelines.
  7. How did it go?
  8. Everything exactly as normal. White balance, etc.
  9. Sure! Just open the new version into Photoshop, then immediately Cmd A Cmd C Cmd W (select all, copy, close). Then go to your existing TIFF file, and select the Background layer, then Cmd V to paste. Immediately change the pasted layer to "Difference" blend mode. That's the easiest mode for this, you'll be able to move the layer around, and when it lines up to the underlying layer, it will be black. Make sure you do this at 100% zoom. Once it's aligned, make it "Normal" blend mode again. Finally, go to Image>Reveal All.
  10. May I see a screenshot?
  11. Have you pressed D to make sure your swatches are pure black and pure white?
  12. Well, the first step is to choose the new background. What do you intend to put there?
  13. No, that's correct. Now, when you're ready to paint it on, choose your orange colour in the toolbar first, then voila!
  14. How did you go?
  15. Great. So now, with that file, add a Hue/Saturation layer and move the Saturation slider all the way to the left. Then add a Levels layer and move the white slider to about 170. Then add an "Invert" adjustment layer. Then flatten the layers. Then you'll be able to create the brush.
  16. Ok, in that case, make a new file with a completely black background, and put the overlay on it, and show me that.
  17. Can you show me what the overlay looks like? A link to where you bought it from would be best.
  18. I'm so sorry, as far as I'm aware, there's no way to save crop presets in Elements.
  19. Yeah, you'll easily get a Dell Ultrasharp in that price range.
  20. Have you read this? The links are out of date, but the essence of the info is still good.
  21. Did you play with it?
  22. Whoa, whoa! Never cut! http://www.damiensymonds.net/2010/09/extract-then-copy-vs-copy-then-extract.html Regarding curving, search on YouTube for tutorials about Puppet Warp.
  23. It's excellent!!!! Just soften the shadow behind his heels, and you're done.
