  1. Well, the problem isn't your editing, but the AWFUL mixed lighting in this photo.
  2. If you feel the problem is in the SOOR, then yes, back to raw.
  3. No. All this "looking" stuff is feeble and irrelevant. The only way to judge colours is against pro lab prints. Do you have some pro lab prints there? Furthermore, what program are you viewing in? If it's not an Adobe program, forget it. Only view in Bridge.
  4. Upgrade time. Pronto. What do you mean by "great"? How are you making this judgement? Against what standard?
  5. What? Didn't you say the bottom one is correct?
  6. Well, the rug and box look a bit different too, don't they?
  7. Well, it just means that you won't be able to open so many images at a time, I guess.
  8. This is not a DNG file, sorry. See how small the file is - only 416KB. A real DNG file would be at least twenty times bigger than that. This is just a thumbnail file. I'm so sorry to be the bearer of bad news
  9. First things first, STOP USING LIGHTROOM. This is exactly the kind of crap you're subjecting yourself to. http://www.damiensymonds.net/bridge-30-day-challenge
  10. Ok, so your screen matches your prints?
  11. Hi Dani, sorry about my delayed reply. Saturday mornings are a whirlwind of kids' sport, it's hard to get computer time. While I'm playing with numbers, can you fix your raw processing and post the 100% crop again?
  12. Oh God .... It means they don't know what they're doing either
  13. After you did save them, did you check them to make sure they were ok? The right size, and the right watermark position, etc?
  14. Ok, this raises the important question ... how often do you restart your computer?
  15. No, you don't get it, do you? This is exactly the kind of thing that Lightroom provides its users - a "near enough is good enough" mentality. No focus on image quality. Photoshop users have much more pride in their images. They take the time to get them exactly right.
  16. Because you can't crop, of course. Exactly what you said. People who use the Image Size method have to use a two-stage processing - cropping first, then Image Size. Ain't nobody got time fo' 'dat. That person is an idiot. Pay no attention to them. When using that method, you don't have the handy handles at the corners and sides of the marquee, for tweaking your crop. Plus you don't, as you mentioned, have the control over size and resolution.
