  1. There's no room for ambiguity here. Your screen has to match your prints, period. Does it?
  2. May I see the area close up?
  3. It'll pass a first glance, but not a second.
  4. Gee, I don't know, sorry. It might be easier to get the jacket out again, hang it over a chair or something, and photograph it.
  5. No, if you look at the image sizes again, you'll see they're exactly the same. Exactly the same pixel dimensions, that is. And that's the only thing that matters. So the answer is: either method is fine. They both give the right result.
  6. Yep, sounds like you've done it exactly right. Let me know how it goes.
  7. By "stripping out the profile" they mean to uncheck the profile box in the Save As dialog when you're saving the file. I don't know what to tell you, sorry. This is just down to luck, it seems.
  8. You must have some photos with nice (bright) treed backgrounds?
  9. No, I think that's silly. If you're going to go to all that trouble, don't do it half-assed.
  10. Um ... that one has houses in it too ...
  11. Yeah, I can't see any value in it.
  12. The first one is completely irrelevant, because you must work in changing light. The second one ... well, that functionality is in Photoshop already, so I'm not sure what the benefit would be. The third on ... how many screens do you have?
  13. Well yes, with a heck of a lot of patience, you could mask it out to white. Then maybe put a pale fake sky in. A hard job, but a great challenge.
  14. What do they say are the differences?
  15. Just to check - you're aware that a screen can be IPS with LED backlight, right? They're not mutually exclusive.
  16. Gee, then they should be damn near identical (the jpeg and the psd) in the loupe.
  17. What quality level was your jpeg save set to?
  18. You can only judge sharpness at 100%. View both files with the Loupe in Bridge. You can see me using the Loupe in this video. Never use, or trust, Windows viewer for anything. Only ever use Bridge.
  19. I get the same error message I don't know if there's anything you can do, sorry. I've spent some time googling "dng file repair", as I'm sure you've done yourself, but there don't seem to be any good solutions leaping out at me.
  20. Ok, could you send me one of the recovered 20MB ones?
  21. hmmm... 18 was a bit too high, I think. While it looks great in most areas, it looks a bit heavy in some brighter areas.
  22. There was quite a lot of guesswork involved, to be honest. A lot of fiddling with sliders.
  23. Would this be ok? Download the PSD
  24. *shrugs* Try both and see.
