  1. Oh Chantelle, please don't wait any longer to take the Raw Class, I beg you. Your edit makes me cry a little.
  2. Sorry I didn't get to this last night. State of Origin, you know. In the first one, there's some slight mottling; but it's not evident in the second one. Should there be mottling? Or are we talking about a fairly smooth gradient?
  3. We'll talk more about the quality aspects once we have the resolution information from the printer. For it to look amazing, you'll need to take this. It will blow your mind, I promise. But you'll need to do it fast. When is this job due?
  4. Oh bummer. You really need to talk to your client, and ask to be able to communicate directly with whoever will be doing the printing. Stress the importance of this, from a quality point of view. He will be receptive, I'm sure. Once you have the printer's details, contact them and ask them what resolution they need the file to be, and also if they need any bleed (it's likely they'll say the exact dimensions of 1200x4800 will be fine, but let's not leave anything to chance - it's possible they might need a few extra millimetres to allow for trimming).
  5. Then I can't help you, sorry.
  6. Hi Amy, Are you printing it yourself? Through your own lab, I mean? Or are you providing the file to the client, who will arrange the printing themselves?
  7. Are you ... going to show me one ... ?
  8. If the print is bad, find a new lab. Period. Under.
  9. Any that mention IPS, or the ultra wide 178/178 viewing angles, will be fine. The 2nd and 3rd ones.
  10. I don't understand what you don't understand? After placing and clipping, press Ctrl T to get the transform handles again, and resize/move it to exactly how you want it. Exactly as I explained in my instructions.
  11. Once you start doing it, you'll understand, don't worry. Of course.
  12. Completely confused, yes. By Placing the whole image, you can use the PSD, and you must know, surely, that PSDs are the supreme quality file? No quality is lost with a PSD. But quite apart from that, it's a HUGE time-saver to simply place the master file. None of those intermediate steps. Trust me on this.
  13. Not me, sorry. I'll move this into the GenDisc area in the hopes that there's somebody much more artistic than me out there.
  14. The Dell Ultrasharps are generally a very safe option. Good screens.
  15. None of them mention IPS. Definitely avoid Samsungs.
  16. Hi Milena, first, can you do this for me? http://www.damiensymonds.net/art_tsfb000.html
  17. If you'd like a Photoshop class, take The Layers & Masks Class. But no, The Raw Class doesn't touch on Photoshop at all, only ACR ( which is similar to Lightroom, only not shit). http://www.damiensymonds.net/trainingfaq.html
  18. Only by getting it from your backup drive ... if it's up to date.
  19. No waiting list, no. But I have to approve you. Please go ahead and apply right away.
  20. No, Photoshop editing always comes after raw processing, and so it is with the classes.
  21. It definitely can matter, yes. Minor levels adjustments should be ok, but big ones would be a problem. How major was it?
