Yes, that is catastrophically bad. You must NEVER do that. Send both raw files to your editor, then do the combination after they send them back.

Oh, this is so annoying, isn't it? From Bridge, there are two ways to open a raw file - one is Cmd O (for "Open") and the other is Cmd R (for "Raw"). Can you try both, and see if one works?

Then you need to email back, and ask for more information. We need to know exactly which CMYK profile they need.

At the top of the page, in the blue bar, do you see where it says "Search Damien's resources"? Click on that, then put "chromatic" in the search field.

Never crop in raw. Never crop while editing in Photoshop. That's all you need to know. Only crop when you're ready to print, or other form of output.
