  1. In Photoshop go to Preferences>Performance, and uncheck the box that says "Use Graphics Processor". (I think that's what it's called.)
  2. What did you end up getting, @Dianna Cameron?
  3. I urge you to consider the Bridge Class. It's only ten dollars, and it's packed full of really important info.
  4. Not strange at all. Very common, actually. It's why I never let Bridge (or any other program) get photos from the card for me.
  5. Take Bridge out of the equation for a moment. How about plain old copy and paste from card to computer?
  6. So ... why had you begun using "Export" somewhere along the way?
  7. It doesn't do the weird size thing when you do sensible ol' Save As?
  8. No, I really wouldn't. As soon as you do that you're committed to paying monthly for your software for the rest of your days. Your CS6 is excellent. And of course uninstall Lightroom.
  9. Yes, but why? Everything I've ever taught you has been about saving. Why are you suddenly exporting?
  10. Darn it, please answer the question. Why are you exporting? I don't understand why you included this. What does sharpening have to do with anything?
  11. You MUSTN'T do this! You're just wasting time and hard drive space. NEVER create jpegs for collages. Only use your master PSDs. I beg you to take the Layers & Masks Class again. It's been so darn long, and if you've forgotten this how much else have you forgotten? As a previous member you don't need to pay full price to take it again. Why are you exporting?
  12. As soon as it arrives, let me know how the calibration goes.
  13. When you do that it saves the screenshot to your desktop. If you want it to save to your clipboard, you need to hold Ctrl as well. That's according to my googling, anyway.
  14. Which method are you using to capture the screenshot?
  15. Ok, great. I look forward to hearing how the laptop calibration goes.
  16. "As close as possible" is the best you can reasonably expect, yes. An exact match is pretty much impossible. Does your home computer match your pro lab prints well?
  17. You would be happy with any of those screens. I don't know anything about video editing. Benq are probably ok but I would stick to Dell, if only because they are known to have a good return policy.
  18. I've never owned one either, so I don't know.
  19. But if you don't have the desk space for that, there are lots of good 24" ones, like this. Remember, whatever you're looking for MUST say "IPS panel". And yeah, remember that you'll probably need to order the correct cable to go from your Mac to your new screen.
  20. Something like this would be amazing.
  21. Well, how big were you thinking?
  22. Not perfect, obviously, but I think it will sharpen up ok. Maybe use some generous Clarity in raw as well?
