  1. So what did you decide? Will you change your lighting, or calibrate to a warmer setting?
  2. It's really important that you don't overcomplicate this. Don't try to categorise different "levels of warm". If your prints are warmer than your screen, there are two things to do about it: If you think the fault might be your lighting, see if you can change to cooler lighting. If you think the fault is not the lighting, calibrate the screen again to a warmer setting.
  3. Wonderful! Are you sure this is not the fault of your lighting? It's not too yellow in your room?
  4. Then we'll talk about colour after that.
  5. Right. So that's your next step - recalibrating at lower screen brightness so that they match.
  6. Which is slightly darker? The screen or the prints?
  7. Great. If we ignore the colours for a moment, can you tell me about the overall brightness of the photos? Does the brightness match between screen and prints?
  8. What I really wanted to check was that you're not holding the print close to the screen to compare. You're holding it out at the side, and turning your head?
  9. First, can you confirm that you have recently re-read these instructions?
  10. How's it running now, @Jodie Williams?
  11. I think enough of the lashes of the near eye are in focus to make this a keeper if you need it.
  12. I certainly wouldn't do anything crazy like starting over. I'd just apply a bit of cooling or warming filter to the trees here and there, to make them look a bit more uniform.
  13. They definitely bother me, yes.
  14. I don't understand what you think the problem is. Each time a subject steps up, get them to hold the WB sheet on their chest for the first shot.
  15. If the light was changing too fast for a single white balance sheet shot (which it definitely was), how did you think Shade was going to work for all of them? Yes ... but only if you'd positioned each subject in EXACTLY the same position relative to the tree, which you didn't.
  16. How are you not convinced of that? I've looked back through the threads, and you don't seem to have had ANY method of setting the white balance.
  17. Yes, because most of them seem to be at a slightly different angle; and at that time of day, angle makes a LOT of difference, as you've found out.
  18. Well ... where was your white balance sheet?
  19. I definitely don't think you should try to use the "artistic effect" layers to match the two photos. If they don't match, it's the fault of your clean processing. Go back to your Levels and Skin work until it's perfect.
  20. Yes. Well, whatever method works. That's what we're here to figure out.
  21. What did you end up doing, @DaniGirl?
  22. Are you still there, @ishootfor3?
  23. Well ... that depends how far off they are, I guess. Could you post a couple of files for me to see?
  24. Hey @Eran, you haven't downloaded the file yet!
