  1. Yes, Alt-drag them off. Why were you using them in the first place?
  2. Sorry, I can't give feedback on Levels work here, only in the Levels Class. However, I urge you to revisit your notes from the class, regarding the order in which you'd approach small areas like his head.
  3. Hmmm ... that's a pity, in a way. Well, I hope the reprints are fine.
  4. To each of the highlight numbers, of course. Exactly as in my tutorial. On the red channel which you screenshotted, add it to the 216.
  5. I can't think of any other possible reason, to be honest. I'll be interested to know what they say.
  6. Hi Sarah, I've moved this post into AD, since it's not a class question per se. This is very interesting. It's actually rather common, but usually the difference in print size is bigger than this. Usually 4x6s and 8x10s would be printed on the same machine at the lab. However, it seems like that might not be the case? If they were printed on different machines, and one of the machines was running a bit dodgy that day, it would be the most common explanation for this. Have you asked the lab about it?
  7. You're following my laptop directions for the laptop, right? You're not trying to use the same desktop instructions as for the external?
  8. I urge you to run a cleanup program once a month. However, in general terms, all of those specs sound fine. Do you happen to know if the error message arises when you calibrate the laptop screen? Or is it only the external?
  9. In a way, that's good news, and as I expected. It was never a problem with 6500K specifically. It's a problem in the system. Can you do this for me?
  10. Which step are you up to in the tutorial? Have you got the HHI?
  11. Yes ... I don't understand where you're stuck? It looks like you're progressing perfectly.
  12. It's true that the interface has changed somewhat, but all the functionality remains exactly the same. May I see a screenshot of what you're seeing?
  13. Now PLEASE start posting some photos in the classes. Can't wait to rock your world with the skin class.
  14. Hi Carly, in what way does it differ from the prints? Can you describe what you're seeing?
  15. Yeah, no. Please let's talk about this in the Raw Class.
  16. No, once that jpeg damage is done, it's done. You have to start again from the raw image. PLEASE read: https://www.damiensymonds.net/2010/02/trash-those-jpegs.html
  17. Color blend mode affects everything. Hue blend mode only applies the colour to areas that already have colour, and leaves neutral areas alone.
  18. Can you open them from inside Elements, though? I mean, using File>Open?
  19. Oh! Lol, right. Also do the top edge of the baseboard.
  20. Um, no, not the whole backdrop. Just those yellowed edge areas.
  21. Great. Now, add a Solid Color layer of that desired blue, and set it to "Hue" blend mode. Mask it to just those areas.
