If you're making a diptych that isn't wrapped, then it's just a simple matter of cropping. Nothing to it.

I think it looks great, and well worth the masking. Were you using the Shift key? The masking shouldn't take long at all.

Then plain ol' Hue/Sat might be sufficient? Something like -5/-15/-60 on the Master Channel?

No, that's correct. It's always been that way. NEVER save files from Camera Raw. Ever. -
I've had great experiences with Dell and LG. I would lean towards them over the Asus, but that's just me.
