  1. No, you signed up for the Bridge Class But that's ok, it's the correct one to start with. The Raw Class comes next.
  2. Have they arrived yet @Melissa p?
  3. You definitely should try it. It might work fine, and if it doesn't, it won't break anything.
  4. Just updated the link.
  5. Are you sure you can't send files directly to the lab, not via Wix, for the purpose of your test prints?
  6. Then PLEASE don't sign up for the Sharpening Class You won't be able to use it, I'm afraid.
  7. @Melissa p, when will your new prints arrive?
  8. Yes you can. The class guides you through getting the prints. What I meant was, can you prepare the files at exactly the right size for each desired print, and upload those specific files for your print order?
  9. It's definitely not ideal. But I understand the lure of the convenience. Will you be able to order your test prints at specific sizes?
  10. Thank you, done.
  11. With the link I gave you on Facebook!!!!
  12. No, of course not.
  13. Yeah, that's a real bummer. Gee I think you bought a dodgy laptop.
  14. And are you saying that your screen is still brighter than your prints?
  15. Can you show me a screenshot of your brightness slider on your laptop?
  16. You've moved this all the way to the left?
  17. Really? The brightness slider is at 0?
  18. Lowering the brightness might do it for you.
  19. Hi @Amy Dwyer, I'm so sorry, I had begun writing the instructions for the X elite but got sidetracked by other work. The Spyder 5 Elite instructions will kind of work for now, and the troubleshooting part of those instructions definitely applies. I hasten to add that yellow prints are sometimes the result of a too-yellow room. Have you read this? https://www.damiensymonds.net/2012/01/light-around-your-computer.html
  20. You plug the screen into your laptop, so that it's operating as a second screen. Then you go to the Display Settings control panel and make sure it's on "Extend". This is vitally important. Then calibrate it. Make sure you follow the "Desktop" instructions: https://www.damiensymonds.net/cal_s5elite_pc1.html
  21. @Aubrey, did you find a screen to plug in to your laptop?
  22. Do you understand what I'm getting at? If you plug in a screen and get a good calibration, then you know your calibrator is ok, and you can get on with your editing. If you plug in a screen and calibrate it and you get the same problems, then it might mean that your laptop screen is ok after all, and it's the Spyder that's faulty.
  23. Of course use the laptop. With a screen plugged into it. And see if you get a better calibration result.
  24. In that case you need to plug an external monitor into your laptop and calibrate that.
