Your calibrator might be too old for this screen, though. It might give you weird results. Anyway, go ahead and try, and see what happens.

I spoke too soon. The update download progress bar got all the way to 100%, but then it told me it wasn't able to download, and that I should try again later.

Yeah, back when the Spyder4 was current. I fear you need a new calibrator, sorry.
However, have you tried the options under "Part 9 - Troubleshooting" about 2/3rds down this page? It's for the Spyder 5, not the 4, but is fairly relevant.
