That is a decision you have to make on a photo-by-photo basis. Every situation is different. Please feel free to post your photos any time you need my help. Noise is only necessary for gradients, not for Solid Color layers.

Oh gosh, I'm not surprised! She looks so awful! I hope you don't have to work with that MUA again. The only way I know is to work patiently and artistically with a dodge and burn layer. But even with the best dodging, it's still going to look weird, because she has no texture

No, that won't work. Your photo is beautifully lit. Whereas the example photos you've linked are all very shadowy. I need you to find me a more suitable photo of your own; or link to different examples of photo with lighting like yours.

Excellent. Then you should be able to simply go to Image>Duplicate, to make a second copy of the file in Photoshop. Then on each one, go to Canvas Size, and set the width to 50%. On one of them, click on a right-hand square of the 3x3 grid; on the other one, click on a left-hand square.

Does it have bleed?

The great news is that none of your subjects have any limbs or hair or anything extruding beyond your seamless. So that will make your job a lot easier. However, it's still not an "easy" job.

These are the settings I suggest: If that's too big, try Image Quality: Medium.

The simple, unavoidable truth is this: A 28-page PDF is either going to be huge in size, or crappy in quality. It's not possible to have a small, nice, 28-page PDF file.

I think you're missing the point. The act of saving as a PDF automatically makes all images jpegs. Please don't go back and change anything now. But for future reference, it's ok (better, in fact, from a workflow point of view) to simply use your master PSDs. I need to know what pdf advice they've given. About resolution, and size, and stuff. What info do you have from them?

PSDs. Making intermediate jpeg files before placing them in a design is just unnecessary clutter for your hard drive. Not just tricky. Sometimes, impossible Well, that depends on the purpose for which you're making the PDF file. Is it for print, or for emailing to people, or for people to download from your website ... ?
