  1. You probably need to use the eyedropper to match the old background colour to the new. Your masking around his cheek isn't great.
  2. So far so good. Now return to the Levels 1 layer and mask as needed.
  3. No, it's actually quite rare for a monitor's best setting to be sRGB. If Standard gave you the best result, that's where it stays. Wait, you're scaring me. You had good bright light while comparing prints, yes?
  4. Can't you see the blue underlined "send me one" text, indicating a link?
  5. If you'd bought a PC like sensible person, you'd have lots of money left in your pocket, AND you wouldn't have this problem. Is there any place you can rent a calibrator, to test?
  6. I don't know why it does that, sorry. If you log out then log back in again it should work ok.
  7. And if I was sure it would, I would tell you to do so How long have you had this computer?
  8. This is quite normal. Have you looked in Preferences (maybe Interface) to see if there is any adjustability?
  9. Ok, so each file (1024 pixels in size, saved at level 10) should be around the 200-400KB in file size, is that correct?
  10. The quality level. On the 0-12 scale. What did you choose?
  11. Gosh. Are they jpegs? If so, what quality level did you choose?
  12. It would be ideal to find out the exact resolution of the projector. If you can't do that, I think 1920 pixels is a fair guess. That's normal HD. What are the pixel dimensions of the photos presently?
  13. No it doesn't. You're following the wrong instructions. Only follow these ones.
  14. PLEASE consider a refresher. The class is completely new, much better, and you get a significant discount as a former participant.
  15. Tell me about the new screen before you calibrated it. Was it closer to prints?
  16. Don't forget to fix the backdrop between their heads.
  17. May I have the backstory? What was behind them before?
  18. What is it for, exactly? Will it be shown at an event, or something?
  19. Yay, I'm glad you like it! The fix isn't technically complex, but will take a lot of time and patience. Don't expect to achieve it quickly. Download the PSD file First, a dodge and burn layer to even out the wrinkles in front a bit. Then a radial gradient layer. Mask it completely around the child. At this point, the child will seem like it's "floating", exactly as you said. After that, use a very low opacity black brush on the mask to gently reveal a bit of the blanket texture in front, as I did. Finally, the noise layer to prevent banding. If any of the above is unfamiliar to you, I beg you to consider my little Layers & Masks Class. It's very cheap, but will open up worlds of skills to you.
  20. Well, this is all I do ... Add a new blank layer Click on the foreground swatch at the bottom of the toolbar and choose red as the colour Press M to choose the Marquee Tool, then click and hold on it to choose the oval one Check the options bar to make sure it has 0 for the feather setting Draw the circle Edit>Stroke and give it a few pixels of stroke.
