  1. We can make a silhouette from your photo, for sure. But it won't look the same as that one.
  2. Of course not. Your lighting is nothing like that.
  3. No, you signed up for the Bridge Class But that's ok, it's the correct one to start with. The Raw Class comes next.
  4. Have they arrived yet @Melissa p?
  5. You definitely should try it. It might work fine, and if it doesn't, it won't break anything.
  6. Just updated the link.
  7. Are you sure you can't send files directly to the lab, not via Wix, for the purpose of your test prints?
  8. Then PLEASE don't sign up for the Sharpening Class You won't be able to use it, I'm afraid.
  9. @Melissa p, when will your new prints arrive?
  10. Yes you can. The class guides you through getting the prints. What I meant was, can you prepare the files at exactly the right size for each desired print, and upload those specific files for your print order?
  11. It's definitely not ideal. But I understand the lure of the convenience. Will you be able to order your test prints at specific sizes?
  12. Thank you, done.
  13. With the link I gave you on Facebook!!!!
  14. No, of course not.
  15. Yeah, that's a real bummer. Gee I think you bought a dodgy laptop.
  16. And are you saying that your screen is still brighter than your prints?
  17. Can you show me a screenshot of your brightness slider on your laptop?
  18. You've moved this all the way to the left?
  19. Really? The brightness slider is at 0?
  20. Lowering the brightness might do it for you.
  21. Hi @Amy Dwyer, I'm so sorry, I had begun writing the instructions for the X elite but got sidetracked by other work. The Spyder 5 Elite instructions will kind of work for now, and the troubleshooting part of those instructions definitely applies. I hasten to add that yellow prints are sometimes the result of a too-yellow room. Have you read this? https://www.damiensymonds.net/2012/01/light-around-your-computer.html
  22. You plug the screen into your laptop, so that it's operating as a second screen. Then you go to the Display Settings control panel and make sure it's on "Extend". This is vitally important. Then calibrate it. Make sure you follow the "Desktop" instructions: https://www.damiensymonds.net/cal_s5elite_pc1.html
  23. @Aubrey, did you find a screen to plug in to your laptop?
