  1. YOU'RE not the one who's going to crop it to 8x10. Your client is, or their printer. You understand that part, yes?
  2. What is it that you don't understand about this, Rhonda? Why can't you understand the importance of the 11:15 crop?
  3. That's right, they can print whatever size they want. Therein lies the risk in selling digital files. Depending on their chosen print size, there will be cropping. Are they qualified to crop YOUR photos to look their best? Of course not. No more than they are qualified to edit your photos. That's why YOU must do it.
  4. Your photos are going to be cropped. That is the truth. It's much better that YOU crop them, don't leave it to your clients. You sure as hell wouldn't give unedited photos to your clients and say "it's ok, they'll edit them for me, I'm sure they'll do a good job." Would you?
  5. Read the article again. And again, and again. Until you understand. All the info is there.
  6. Gotta have good bright consistent light in your room. It's SO important.
  7. Millers is shit, that's an established fact. Yes, definitely get some test prints from other labs. I don't know if I've already asked you this - are you certain the light in your room is bright enough? https://www.damiensymonds.net/2012/01/light-around-your-computer.html
  8. You MUST read these two articles: https://www.damiensymonds.net/2011/02/selling-digital-images.html https://www.damiensymonds.net/2015/07/selling-digital-files-you-cant-limit.html I will help you with your batching, but NOT until you assure me you understand why what you've been doing is wrong. NEVER give 8x12 @ 300 files.
  9. Oh, it's tricky. May I have some more information? For what purpose are you setting this up?
  10. By the way, PLEASE read: https://www.damiensymonds.net/png-file-format I just visited your site
  11. I posted about this repeatedly in Facebook Ask Damien and on my Facebook biz page. Please make sure you follow those pages.
  12. Hi Bryna, could you show me a screenshot of the error message? (Include the whole screen so I can see your layers and actions panels too, ta.)
  13. It's not perfect, that's for sure. But if it's the best one you have, I'd say it's usable.
  14. 16-bit is for the photos where you know you'll have to do BIG editing in Photoshop. Like, severely hazy photos for example.
  15. 8-bit is fine for almost all photos. Everything I see there is perfect.
  16. Gee, don't thank me yet. Not until we know if you can open your raw files again.
