  1. Oh God .... It means they don't know what they're doing either
  2. Alas, no, sorry.
  3. Ok, that's good at least. Could you do this for me?
  4. After you did save them, did you check them to make sure they were ok? The right size, and the right watermark position, etc?
  5. Ok, this raises the important question ... how often do you restart your computer?
  6. No, you don't get it, do you? This is exactly the kind of thing that Lightroom provides its users - a "near enough is good enough" mentality. No focus on image quality. Photoshop users have much more pride in their images. They take the time to get them exactly right.
  7. Because you can't crop, of course. Exactly what you said. People who use the Image Size method have to use a two-stage processing - cropping first, then Image Size. Ain't nobody got time fo' 'dat. That person is an idiot. Pay no attention to them. When using that method, you don't have the handy handles at the corners and sides of the marquee, for tweaking your crop. Plus you don't, as you mentioned, have the control over size and resolution.
  8. Yep, just search for "black boxes" on my site.
  9. Try this: http://www.damiensymonds.net/art_tsfb000.html
  10. Only if you want your photos to be good. If you're happy for them to be shit, by all means use Lightroom.
  11. Hi, thanks for posting. Which aspect are you having trouble with - putting him in the photo, or making his colours match?
  12. Try again now.
  13. It's going to be a great photo.
  14. Your vignette is a bit too obvious, isn't it?
  15. Hi Erin, did you see this one from last week?
  16. Gosh yeah, of course it can!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The point of the article is that you must only ever use colour-managed programs. Ever.
  17. Yes, such is the nature of wide gamut screens. Did I give you this link to read? http://www.damiensymonds.net/2011/08/buying-wide-gamut-screen.html
  18. That is an EXCELLENT monitor. Don't change it. What troubles are you having with calibration, exactly?
  19. May I have a link to your current screen's specs?
  20. I'm not aware of that, sorry, but I'm not using the latest version.
  21. Oh yes, this is EXCELLENT focus! Well done, to you and your camera.
  22. Gee, I hope that won't be necessary.
