  1. I get the same error message I don't know if there's anything you can do, sorry. I've spent some time googling "dng file repair", as I'm sure you've done yourself, but there don't seem to be any good solutions leaping out at me.
  2. Ok, could you send me one of the recovered 20MB ones?
  3. hmmm... 18 was a bit too high, I think. While it looks great in most areas, it looks a bit heavy in some brighter areas.
  4. There was quite a lot of guesswork involved, to be honest. A lot of fiddling with sliders.
  5. Would this be ok? Download the PSD
  6. *shrugs* Try both and see.
  7. With respect, that's impossible. All DNG files from one camera should be a very similar size. Please check again. It sounds like you were looking at jpeg files.
  8. And? Have you compared it to other DNG files from your camera? Is 20MB correct? By the way, you're in Adobe RGB. This is disastrous. Fix it right away. Click on the blue link at the bottom of the ACR window, and change from Adobe RGB to sRGB.
  9. This is your chance, my friend. Embrace it. Change your life. http://www.damiensymonds.net/bridge-30-day-challenge
  10. Well ... that's a different photo. How many of these problem photos do you have?
  11. Hell yes it matters. You can't use that, because you can't replicate it next month.
  12. Yeah, that'll work.
  13. Ok. What opacity brush did you use?
  14. Ok, could you send me those files? One from the PC and one from the Mac?
  15. Is this the one you were following? http://www.damiensymonds.net/2013/02/using-photo-filter-layer-to-fix-casts.htm
  16. Well, the problem isn't your editing, but the AWFUL mixed lighting in this photo.
  17. If you feel the problem is in the SOOR, then yes, back to raw.
  18. No. All this "looking" stuff is feeble and irrelevant. The only way to judge colours is against pro lab prints. Do you have some pro lab prints there? Furthermore, what program are you viewing in? If it's not an Adobe program, forget it. Only view in Bridge.
  19. Upgrade time. Pronto. What do you mean by "great"? How are you making this judgement? Against what standard?
  20. Ok, that's better. Which Spyder?
  21. What? Didn't you say the bottom one is correct?
