  1. Sorry, Channel Mixer won't work here, because all the channels are damaged. The best I can suggest (and it's not particularly good) is Dust & Scratches filter at about 3/2, then the "Colour Fix" layer from the Handyman Method for the leftover bits of colour.
  2. Hi Elke, what about the obstruction in the bottom left? Somebody's hair, I think? What's your plan for that?
  3. Of course. Tools>Photoshop>Image Processor. I discussed Image Processor in this.
  4. If the Quick Selection Tool works, that's great! (And surprising). For the times when it doesn't, this is the next fastest method. Just add a white Solid Color layer, invert the mask, then shift-paint around the edge and fill the rest with the paint bucket. Very fast.
  5. Essentially, the D&S filter is a way of shortcutting the first part of this method. Now you can do the second part - the Hue/Saturation layer.
  6. This is my usual go-to method for tan lines.
  7. Yes, of course you could just do one layer and mask. But if you do it that way, you have to mask every.single.strand.of.hair.on.her.head. And that would drive anyone to insanity. This way, you only have to mask the hairs you don't want. Have you read this? You actually did the right thing here. If you'd remembered to bring a comb, this would have been dead easy.
  8. Try Dust & Scratches filter at 15/5 and see what you think.
  9. "Convert to sRGB" and "Embed Color Profile" must be checked, always.
  10. Don't worry about either Progressive or Optimized. Convert to sRGB is good, but of course shouldn't be necessary, because your files should already be sRGB.
  11. I know you don't! That's a MASSIVE problem.
  12. Yes, fully calibrate their computer/screen as if it was your own.
  13. Well, you need to find one. A family member, or a friend, or an easy-going neighbour.
  14. Don't buy anything new yet. First, use the calibrator to calibrate a different computer, and see if it gives better results.
  15. No, it's still untagged. You mustn't have the "Embed Color Profile" box checked.
  16. Only replace it with the dark colour. Do not attempt to replace it with a light colour. Make this as easy as possible for yourself.
  17. Yes, I think this is a good idea also. Start completely afresh, you know?
  18. You can also do it very easily in Bridge. After editing the first image in ACR, press "Done" to close it. Then in Bridge, right-click on it and choose "Develop Settings>Copy Settings". Then select all the other files, right-click again and choose "Paste Settings".
  19. Dust & Scratches filter at 6/12 should do it nicely.
  20. What's bothering me is the different colour of whites. The whites of the clouds are greenish, whereas the whites of the snow are pinkish. It's incongruous.
  21. Please read ALL my instructions. I told you to change to Soft Light blend mode BEFORE running High Pass.
